Walls can be constructed out of brick, block, stone or flint to your design and specification. We also repair, re-point and carry out restoration work to existing walls, from dwarf walls to curved and boundary walls. Once the design has been chosen the next stage is to start on the groundworks.
An excavator is brought in to dig foundations for any walls and to also remove the top soil in the desired area. Hardcore is then laid over the base of the patio. It’s now ready to be concreted along with the foundations. Patio walls can be constructed of various materials, the most popular choices being; brick, stone or artificial stone. Bricks are available in a variety of shapes, colours and strengths varying from engineering bricks for retaining walls to stock bricks which have a nice appearance. Angled or bullnose bricks can be used along the top of the wall with a different colour or make of brick to enhance the finished effect.The choice of patio slabs or bricks are numerous ranging from York or Indian stone to concrete slabs and paving bricks. Almost all desired colours are availableThe slabs are laid on top of the concrete and are jointed to prevent weed growth and then cleaned up.
